Disappointing for practicing engineers.

The book is a rigorous coverage of electromagnetic theory; it does not explain electromagnetic interference or how one can compute interfering levels with a minimum amount of theory. The back cover states: "Designed to entice the practical engineer to explore some worthwhile mathematical methods , and to reorient the theoretical scientist to industrial applications... The book is a mathematically rigorous exposition of electromagnetic theory with applications in electromagnetic compatibility and high speed digital design." I was hoping for a text that would explain the phenomena and provide modest and memorable mathematical approach to solving problems. Instead the book is another theoretical text with little practical advice.

Theoretical EMC

As the book's title indicates, this is a theoretical text for understanding the diverse fields from which EMC comes from and where the EMC rules of thumb originate from. Aside from collecting those diverse subjects in one book, it also does the reader the favor of providing a mathematically rigorous foundation for the equations that are used in the text. Having both the electromagnetic theory explained and proving that they are mathematically sound, now the reader can have faith in the arsenal of EMC tools he or she has in order to accurately root cause an issue. This is the book's intent and it does meet it. Too many times will an EMC rule of thumb sound like common sense which leads the engineer to believe that EMC is done by logical intuition or what I refer to as "physics by intuition", but this is not always the case. The book demonstrates that they do have a rigorous foundation. It is one thing to read an equation and pick up a calculator, but it is another for the reader to understand the meaning behind the equation conveyed in the language of mathematics. Having this knowledge, the reader can make the connection between real-world EMC problems and the theory to come up with sound design solutions rather than just rely on rules of thumb. Plenty of other excellent texts exist for the practicing EMC engineer but this is one of the few that deep dives into the theoretical side of things and hence where its value lies.

Peter Alway is a professor of physics with a devotion to all things rocket. His book, "Rockets of the World" explores the history of rocketry from the beginning of the 20th century through WW2, the race to the moon, to the present day. Not only a very interesting read but also a valuable reference tool. Written in encyclopaedic format this book allows the reader to explore the relationships and pedigrees of rockets while learning of their manufacturers, dimensions, appearances, and successes.
It's the only book quite like it in the world. I use it regularly for consultation and citing.

About the Author
Francine Rivers began her literary career at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and journalism. From 1976 to 1985, she had a successful writing career in the general market, and her books were highly acclaimed by readers and reviewers. Although raised in a religious home, Francine did not truly encounter Christ until later in life, when she was already a wife, a mother of three, and an established romance novelist.

Francine and her husband, Rick, live in Northern California and enjoy the time spent with their three grown children and every opportunity to spoil their grandchildren.

Absolutely amazing!!

This book was one recommended to me by many friends over the years but I never wanted to start because it was long and looked more like a "gladiator" story from the outside. I'm so glad I finally picked it up and started it because I couldn't put it down!!! It does have some gladiators but it transforms the reader to a time unfamiliar to us and helps us to live with the characters. Every character was real and relatable. Francine Rivers you outdid yourself (although I know this is one of your older books). You taught me so much about the era and about people. Many of the fictional situations in the book have happened in my lifetime. Some of our church sermons went along with your messages in the book. Isn't that just like our God?!?

Francine Rivers is one of my favorite Christian writers

Francine Rivers is one of my favorite Christian writers. Besides the riveting story with some twists in the end, her depiction of fictional characters struggle to find purpose has a transcendent effect on my life. Specifically, I was encouraged to not give up on praying for those "hard cases" in my life to come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. She very aptly applies universal Biblical principles to the social context of the time in which these novels were set. In the beginning of the first book, I asked the question, "Why should I care about these Romans?" I kept on reading, and started caring very deeply about them. As they were being prayed for, I had that tug in my heart to pray also, if only for a moment, until I remembered that they were fictional. Yet, so believable! It was easy to take that same tug and apply it to pray for real people in the here and now. I am grateful for the reading experience that Rivers provided and how it led me to a deeper walk with the Lord.

This series will grip your heart!

I absolutely love this series! The first several chapters were a little tedious for me because it was a little like a history book, but so very much worth persisting. After reading the first book, you will have to read the second, then the third. I could not read fast enough to see what would happen. The characters are very developed, and Francine Rivers draws you into each of them. What a story of restoration! There are so many surprises in these books. Not That Humorous And Not That Original

Not to be a killjoy, but most of what is in here, you could think up for yourself…doing laundry, cleaning house, scrapbooking, etc. It really is just a compilation of simple everyday tasks that everyone does, only she does them au natural. And, the writng is satisfactory, but nothing special. Save your money and buy a real book about naturism if you are interested in starting a natural life style.

oyedepo financial prosperity book

Amazon seller described book well and arrived quickly.
This book has popped up on my "want list" repeatedly over the last 2 to 3 years. I am a Spirit filled christian and was always reluctant to study finance. Didn't seem spiritual or whatever crazy idea and misconception I had. Could not be farther from the Truth!!
Book is well written, not amazing but reads easily and quickly. Short Chapters.
The information is bible based and will hit the "inner delete button" in your brain about finances and christianity. Awesome information. Great stories. Plenty of bible references.
What I like the most is Daniel Oyedepo has built a "kingdom-minded" church of believers in his home country WITHOUT asking for aid. The answers are all right in front of you. You will have to put in effort, but the results are exponential.
Other authors are MYLES MONROE. Check out his books. An awesome MP3 teaching is available from Neville Johnson. It is a 5 lesson set that deals first with the "Poverty Spirit". It is more than worth ten dollar download charge.

This book was an answer to prayer. It is not a typical "how to get rich" book. It is an anointed composition of principles, secrets hidden from the world and from those whose motives are not pure...It is a word of declaration from a proven prophet of God! His words are the words of a father, teaching his children how to win! The correction is hard but loving, direct and precise..Bishop Oyedepo shares testimonies from his own life that are simply amazing..This book will definitalely pull the slack out!! A must read for all who are serious about financing the Kingdom of God and being an example of the sons of God in the Earth!(without struggle or comprimise)
After reading just a few chapters of this book , I whole heartedly agree with the man of God! 'I CAN NEVER BE POOR"!"The blessings of Abraham are mine now!"

This book connect's the dot's that comes from the Bible. It's teaching is awesome and inspiring, it gives me insight in giving my whole heart to God and how to live under God's covenant! I have never read a book that has made the impact this book has. I am a daily Bible reader and this book is like spiritual popcorn going off inside of me! "If you are tired of Purity then you are tired of Plenty"! It will move you.
