About the Author
Ib R. Odderson, MD, PhD - Ib R. Odderson, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department as well as the Medical Director of the Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic at the University of Washington, in Seattle. He is on the Associate Medical Staff at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, in Seattle, and the Courtesy Medical Staff at the Evergreen Medical Center, in Kirkland, Washington. Dr. Odderson received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennessee. Prior to that, he earned his doctorate at Indiana University, in Bloomington, which was followed by a Research Visiting Fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health, in Bethesda, Maryland.

Incredibly pricey!

My trainees, colleagues, and even patients love this book. However, I must say that the price it is available at (for being out of print) is just outrageous. Also, this book should really be colored, not black&white. Finally, indirectly related but let me went here anyway, I found this book earlier this year for a much more reasonable price, in fact multiple copies. I think the price was something like $40 (compare at $700!). I ordered 8 copies or so. It went through and I was thinking this is just too good to be true. Well, as it usually is in those situations, it was too good to be true. After about a month of waiting I got an email from Amazon saying they were wondering if I "still" wanted the book. What?? I did not make the slightest move or hint I would not want it. I ordered it BECAUSE I wanted it, I would think that's obvious. If I change my mind of course it is my job to let them know. It is not that if they have delays, they send a phony confirming email, and hoping somebody doesn't see or reply, they can just cancel the order and it wouldn't be their fault. Very sneaky and backward. I replied (somewhat angrily) and made it very clear that I do not cancel and will not cancel. Yet, another month later I got a similar email from Amazon. I knew what it was, an erroneous order, and they wanted to play every trick before admitting it. I think a total of 3 phony "confirming your interest" emails several weeks apart, months after the original order I got an email that the order is canceled. I already knew that was coming and I must say I very much did not appreciate the fact they erred putting up a defunct order (I don't think the seller ever had the book in the first place), but even more disappointing was their dishonesty wasting my time for months. I ordered this particular book after all that waste of time, this is how it relates to this particular order indirectly. Thanks.
